Carl Hickey: Two Boys Bus Surfing in Drimnagh
We’re delighted to have Carl Hickey as our first artist to be featured in the Craicin series.
From Clondalkin, Dublin and growing up in the inner city Carl’s work is a testament to everyday life. Starting with video recording moments throughout daily roaming, the images are then translated into paintings placing them in a different context. Mainly using his own references to make work as well as using other platforms on social media to gain inspiration. His work remembers the simple but unpredictable memories that without painting them may have been forgotten. From Baldy Mcdonagh holding up a sex doll, to a self portrait embedded in standing on bins for my Ma, the work is an ode too day to day life living in Dublin
This design is printed by ourselves in the Criacin studio in Dublin. We use high quality garments, 100% ring spun cotton. Fine gauge knit. Shoulder to shoulder taping. Tubular construction. 1x1 rib knit collar.
Weight: 180g/m²
